Summer is in full swing! I love it, even though heat warnings abound. This is going to be a quickie (because summer is in full swing hehe). One of my favourite things to do is to go out and grab some wonderful in season produce. For us here in Ontario, you can find a handy guide as to when things are in season here.
What’s even better is that you can also go to farms and pick your own produce for a lot of the season as well. This site has a handy guide to where you can go in this province for a nice day with the family or a group of friends to get your own grub. It’s split by area on a map, too, so you can narrow down the search even quicker. Love it!
And if you’re into it, they also provide resources and neat ways to preserve your bounty so that it all gets used up! Super useful. I usually bottle things, so I’m totally on board with that!
So definitely get out there, heat warnings and all, and pick your own fresh produce!!
There’s absolutely nothing better than bringing home your spoils from a long day’s harvest and enjoying foods at their freshest! I wish I could get some things year-round (and I COULD), but it’s just not the same. Enjoy!
